Drogheda farm came about in 1995 with the purchase of our first group of mares, 2 Thoroughbreds and a Connemara mare. Brian had been involved with horses from an early age and the direction of his life with horses moved him pretty quickly out of town to country living.
These mares were a core foundation Brian used to produce Warmblood crosses, connemara hunters and connemara jumper ponies. With a keen eye attracted to athletic and functional conformation, Brian was able to match stallions to mares in the first generational cross to produce correct to discipline dressage ponies, hunter ponies and of course, the jumper pony.
Drogheda farm is located east of Calgary, Alberta, and has watched as its hunter ponies, dressage ponies and jumper ponies have spread to all parts of North America and 1 into Mexico. Our love of the "Ideal" has encouraged the addition of the Welsh pony and GRP German Riding Pony to our Connemara genetic based herd. Every year we are proud of the results of our work as each foaling season they hit the ground just as we expected, designed to preform and win.
